It is heartening to note that HITS College of Engineering ranks among the top 18 Engineering College
in A.P. for following "progressive practices" , in an All-India survey conducted by AICTE on "Innovative practices in Technical Education Institutions". This distinction was given to HITS-COE in February, 2005 in recognition of its efforts "for identifying the deficiencies of each student at the time of entry and for providing additional inputs by way of extra classes and courses in soft skill development” .

CSE / IT DEPARTMENTS:
The mission of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is to impart high quality graduate and post graduate education and carry out cutting-edge research in the discipline of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology. The department currently runs 3 academic programs leading to the award of B.TECH (CSE), B.TECH (IT) ,M.Tech(CSE,CNIS & IT)and MCA degrees of JNTU.
The Departments of CSE and IT have a total staff strength of 30+25 members with dedicated and qualified faculty, supported by System Administrators and Programmers.
The computer labs are equipped with 400 Pentium systems loaded with licensed software. All computer laboratories are supported by U.P.S. and one INTERNET lab is available for continuous use, using V-SAT Connection.
ECE DEPARTMENT :
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducts research and teaching in the broad areas of Communication and electronics and related disciplines as per JNTU guidelines. It strives to contribute to the scientific and technological goals through teaching, research and industrial interaction. It is an active participant in many technological projects, seminars and industrial visits and is constantly in the process of providing a vision for future technological trends in the country. In all its endeavors, it strives for excellence in accordance with the noble traditions of the Institute.
The Department of ECE is one of the largest departments in the Institute and has a total staff of 20 members, headed by an eminent Professor and supported by qualified, experienced faculty.
EEE DEPARTMENT :
The Department of EEE is a fast-growing department of this institution and is headed by a dedicated and
experienced Professor with experienced faculty and supported by competent technical staff.
This Department has the following well-equipped Labs.
MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT :
With a mission of imparting knowledge to the student community and keep them abreast of global trends in Mechanical Engineering, the department started in the year 2004-05.The first batch started with a strength of 60.The classrooms and labs and workshops have a built up area of 2500 sq. meters .With an initial sanction of Rs.70 lacks, the department has registered rapid progress.
MCA DEPARTMENT :
Leveraging the finest learning facilities built up as a part of the various computers-oriented engineering courses. Department offers 3 year PG Program in Computer Applications. The program is well-served by a team of faculty with a wealth of experience, advance computer labs a comprehensive digital library.
